Melonya Johnson

Get to know me in three:

My home away from home:
New York City is my home away from home. I lived there for eight years while I pursued music and theater. My favorite city I've visited so far is Paris. I lived there for six months.
The values that influence me:
Accountability, integrity, kindness, optimism, growth, and humility.
My diversity story:
I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY which has often been ranked among the top five most segregated cities in the U.S. Segregation poses many challenges such as poverty, sub-standard education, housing, and deficient employment opportunities for BIPOC communities. I was fortunate to have parents, specifically my mother, who insisted that I experience different cultures, value education, and accept no limitations placed on me by others.
