Managing Bias In Performance Reviews (12-minute microLearning)

Unconscious biases can derail our best efforts to be objective and accurate when it comes to evaluating performance. Are we inadvertently giving higher ratings to employees who are more ‘like us’? What are we doing to ensure our evaluation process is consistent across our entire team? Are we sure we’re aware of the variety of work or projects each team member has worked on, or are we basing our evaluation only on those projects we know about? Are our expectations about a person skewing how we see them? This microLearning invites you to look for and mitigate biases, just in time for evaluating performance.

Objectives:

  • Understand several common biases that impact the performance review process
  • Identify the ways in which each bias impacts aspects of performance evaluation
  • Explore some quick and useful tips to interrupt the biases which may surface during an upcoming review
  • Challenge yourself to expand or change any current patterns of behavior that may limit developing and promoting diverse top talent

Target Audience: People Managers / HR

Delivery Method: Designed to be hosted on your internal LMS
