Susan McCuistion, Associate - Diversity & Inclusion Services
Susan McCuistion is an associate of LCW with over 15 years of consulting and outsourcing experience. Susan has been recognized for developing and implementing diversity strategies and learning solutions for global organizations. She is an expert in national culture and subculture theory and application, and is known for her insight into diversity best practices across North America and South Asia. Susan is also a member in the U.S. Native American community and registered with the Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin.
Prior to LCW, Susan worked for Hewitt Associates as the Global Diversity & Inclusion Program Leader. In this role, she was the owner of Hewitt’s global cross-cultural competency curriculum, responsible for developing enterprise-wide cross-cultural competency training in North America, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. In addition to her curriculum work, she was responsible for diversity measurement, diversity and benefits, and workforce issues such as generations, faith, military, and abilities. At Hewitt, Susan established the foundation, tools, and resources necessary to integrate and sustain diversity in all lines of the global business.
In addition to her work internally, Susan also worked with many of Hewitt’s Fortune-500 clients on projects involving diversity strategy, curriculum, measurement, and benefits. She integrated diversity and inclusion into Hewitt’s existing product mix, developing unique, cutting-edge services for clients across Hewitt’s lines of business. She also provided intercultural competence coaching to C-suite and senior leaders, helping them to better understand their approach to cultural differences.
Susan’s earliest cross-cultural work began with her post-graduate career, where she studied cross-cultural learning styles and conducted research on African American learning styles in mathematics. Today she is a certified administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) TM and a certified facilitator in both Cultural Transformation Tools TM and the suite of Cultural Detective ® courses.
Susan has presented to audiences across India and North America, as well as at conferences and on webinars for organizations such as The Conference Board and Human Capital Institute. She has been interviewed for articles in The New York Times and publications by the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). Susan is also co-author of the upcoming title “Cultural Detective ® – Native American”.
Susan is active in her community, serving in the Antioch Junior Women’s Club as past President and Ways & Means Committee head. She also serves as a volunteer for Antioch School District 34 and Save-A-Pet, and in an elected position as Precinct 3 Committeeman. Susan has an M.S. in Statistics from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
