Should we have more than 10 requests in a given month, we will prioritize the organizations and select those that have made the best case as to why they are interested. If we are unable to accommodate you in a given month, we will do our best to include you in subsequent months.

We will provide participating organizations with a 30-minute consultation and needs assessment in order to ensure the program is appropriately focused and well-received.

If your organization is not in the greater Chicago area, or a reasonable travel distance, LCW may invite your team to participate in a private web-based classroom led by our expert facilitator team.  (If, however, face-to-face facilitation is still preferred, we are happy to travel to you, assuming the facilitator's travel expenses can be reimbursed at cost. This is the only situation in which there would be a billable expense related to our promotion.)

LCW retains the right to refuse services to any organization, at our sole discretion.

Navigating Cultures is our signature workshop, providing a foundation for intercultural competence appropriate for professionals seeking to develop the core skills necessary to succeed in culturally diverse settings.

The program explores how culture affects business and workplace relationships and provides tools that allow participants to navigate and benefit from the myriad of differences in their organization.

Advancing diversity, inclusion and global teams--special attention is given to understanding one’s own cultural programming first, followed by identifying the ways that cultural similarities and differences will impact communication, collaborations, team dynamics and business practices.

Key topics include: defining and outlining basic concepts of culture, institutions that influence one’s own and others’ cultures, “dimensions” by which research and experience have shown that cultures tend to vary, case studies to suggest ways to suspend negative judgment of others, strategies to navigate differences in cross-cultural situations.

You don't have to be a client.  You don't have to become a client.  You don't have to pay for anything.  You don't have to sign up for anything. Period.

LCW originated out of a philanthropic and altruistic desire to change the world.  Ten years later, our goal with this campaign is to reinvigorate ourselves with the energy that first inspired us to share both our expertise bridging cultures and our passion for helping groups that will most benefit—regardless of budgets.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

   Is there really no catch?
There truly is no catch.  LCW was founded by returned Peace Corps volunteers with a desire to give back to the community and share
their passion for cultures. Read more about LCW's history and founding partners here.

I am interested, what should I do next?
    Please download the
Request for 101010 Navigating Cultures Program.doc and submit it either by email or fax using directions
    on the
form. We will then contact you shortly to arrange your program and needs assessment.

Can we change the training content to make it more appropriate for our people?
No. Unfortunately, we cannot customize the pro-bono offer.  We will, however, do our best during the needs assessment to identify
ways in which the facilitator may be able to make the program *feel* more customized to your organization and people.

Can we put our name on the "Navigating Cultures" program (to co-brand it), when you present it to our people?
Yes. Feel free to position the program as "Brought to you by LCW and ___" (insert your organization's name in the blank)

We are a large for-profit corporation.  Are we eligible for this pro-bono workshop?

  Yes.

  Can we request multiple sessions?

At this time, we are offering 1 pro-bono session per organization.  There may be cases in which we make an exception, so please
contact us to discuss your organization's specific need.

Can we use this pro-bono opportunity as a pilot or "test run" for a global diversity component of our
     L&D program/curriculum?

     Yes.

Do you have a flyer with more detail including objectives and an agenda for the 4-hour program?
Yes. Please contact us and we can provide you with a 1-page flyer on the program to share within your organization.

Can you provide us with a list of LCW clients?
Yes.  We understand that some requesting organizations may be new to LCW and need background regarding our history and
track record, in order to take advantage of this offer. LCW clients range from Fortune 100 corporations and elite universities to
not-for-profits and the U.S. Peace Corps. For more information, please contact us and we will be happy to provide references to you.

Can we join together with several other smaller organizations and have a classroom session for everyone combined?
Yes. In fact, if you do not have enough participants to hold your own private session, we recommend this option to you.

Who can best benefit from this pro-bono offer?
    1) The program could be a gift from an NGO to its volunteers as a developmental opportunity that acts as a "thank you".
    2) The program is also great for organizations with small or non-existent budgets, or for hard-working community or alumni
groups looking for  a teambuilding activity/event.
    3) The course is perhaps most popular with multi-generational or culturally diverse corporate teams who are trying to find a way
to break through beyond traditional diversity frameworks to next level, mutually beneficial relationships.

Can I pass this on to other people I know who might be interested?
    Yes, please do.

What is LCW's mission? What do you do?
LCW makes the world a better place by providing training, consulting and translation services that inspire professionals to connect across  cultures.
